Vickie Harris Toms, 65 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Friday, April 1, 1955 in Bedford Co., VA, a daughter of the late Warren Sedelle Harris and Elva Linnelle Hamilton Harris. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dale Harris, Rayford Harris and wife Shirley Harris, Bud Larry Harris and her sister, Betty Slusher. Vickie was a Deli Worker at WalMart. She is survived by her husband, Danny Arthur Toms; sons, Richard Warren Toms (Jody), William Randall Toms; daughter, Phyliss Annette Toms; Special Loves (children), Chasity and Kathy Harris, Deborah Bryant; sisters, Phyliss Waller (Bailey), Donna Carr (Jim), Bonnie Dagenhart (Bob), Gladys Wilson; Grandchildren, Kord M. Witt (Abby), Kyle Coleman, Kason Thomas Toms, Austin Beaty (Julia), William Christian Toms; Great-Grandchildren, Walker M. Witt & Beckley L. Beaty & her WalMart family. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider a donation to Bedford County Animal Shelter, 1307 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, VA 24523. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. William Clark officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
