Obituary of Dorothy Dooley Craghead

Dorothy Dooley Craghead, 91 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Thursday, June 6, 1929 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late George L. Dooley and Audrey Cook Dooley. She was also preceded in death by husband, Clinton Carl Craghead, the love of her life. She was a member of Morgan's Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Twyla Crisp (Jerry), Sheree Saunders (David); her grandchildren, Jennifer Nance, Erik Saunders (Mandy), Autumn Saunders Houck (Nate); her great-grandchildren, Tay Nance, Nora Houck, Elliott Houck, Savannah Saunders; her sisters, Frances McLain, Judy Bolt; a brother, Roger Dooley as well as her sister-in-law, Alma Obenchain. Dorothy spent her life loving and caring for her family. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Morgans Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
