Uncle Zack, you were one of a kind, as well as being so kind. I always enjoyed coming to your and Aunt Carol Sue's home for Family get together's. The laughter we all shared and listening to you, Mom, and all the Aunts & Uncle's sharing the memories of your growing up years...(when life was slower and sweeter)! Oh, and the food we would share and eat together!! Such wonderful, sweet memories!
Gone,but not forgotten.
With an overflowing of love and memories...your niece, Sherri L.

The world is a little dimmer now but Heaven has gained a new bright and joyous star! My heart goes out to you, Carol, Tim, and Beth and the rest of your family. Much love to you! Keith Merkey

My family was blessed to meet Zack and Carol through Dixie Softball. We all became like family. Zack will always have a very special place in my heart. His kind heart, sweet spirit and infectious smile will live on in all of us as a sweet memory.. I can't until until I can hear him say, " Hey, Darlin' " again when I get to Heaven. Love you, Carol and our prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of his death. Mr. Black was one of the nicest people I met when we first moved to Bedford. We had children at the Primary School when he was principal there. He was a fine person and he always remembered every child and parents names. He was a blessing to our community. A great influence on so many children over the years.
Carol, and Tim I am so very sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and all his family. May God bless each of you and may you receive comfort in all the wonderful memories you share.

I met Zack when I was keeping the scorebook for the Radford High School basketball team, and he was a referee. He would occasionally referee a Radford game, and he was just so easy to talk to. We immediately became friends, and I always looked forward to Zack calling one of our games. This was back in the 60's-70's, as I recall, and eventually the games with him as referee became less and less. One day, several years later, my wife and I were in Bedford, where my daughter was a teacher, and we ran into him. We had a great time catching up with each other. Zack was just a special person, and I am so sorry to hear of his death.

Our paths crossed in his love for Dixie Softball and a friendship was born. A most caring lovable and genuine man. From all the wonderful folks here in Bay St Louis, Mississippi who so enjoyed the 2004 World Series he ran, thanks for the memories!
