Anne Palmer Olcott Renner, 76 of Huddleston, VA passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. She was born on Friday, August 11, 1933 in Cincinnati, OH, a daughter of the late Jordan Thomas Olcott and Margaret Shaw Olcott . Mrs. Renner was raised in Aurora, Indiana and was a graduate of Indiana University. She was a member of Bethelehm United Methodist Church and was also very active in the Roanoke County Republican Party as well as being an avid bridge player. Surviving is her husband of fifty-five years, Arnold E. Renner; a son, Jordan B. Renner & wife, Joy of Graham, NC, a daughter, Marcie Renner & husband, Glenn A. White of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, Nicholas P. Renner of Philadelphia, PA; Maggie White and Douglas White, both of Williamsburg; and granddogs, Willie & Addie. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Huddleston Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 77, Huddleston, VA 24104 or any animal shelter or rescue group. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. David Lord officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
