Pauline Snead Mitchen, 77 of Huddleston, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Saturday, December 2, 1933 in Nelson County, a daughter of the late David A. Snead and Annie Carr Snead. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Mitchen. She was a retired employee of A. O. Smith and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Cindy D. Whorley & husband, Rodney of Huddleston and a son, James E. Mitchen, Jr. of Huddleston, as well as two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. Friends may call Thursday after 1 PM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
