Cecil Belford Ruff, 78 of Thaxton, VA passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Wednesday, December 23, 1942 in Bedford County, a son of the late Junie Reeves Ruff and Olie Mae Robertson Ruff.
He was self-employed in tree service.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Murphy Ruff; his sons, Marty Wayne Ruff, Benjamin Silas Ruff & wife, Tiny; his daughters, Sheree Dawn Ruff Byers & husband, Brian, Sonya Helen Toms & husband, John; his step-sons, Thomas Rugaber, Mark Rugaber; grandchildren, Cassidy Elizabeth Ruff, Bradley Earle Toms, Devin Junie Ruff, Erin Renee Ruff, Sabrina Ruff, Gabriella Greco,Lailah Grace Andrews, Khameryn Lee Andrews as well as his sister, Peggy Ruff Nester.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Earl Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Peaks Presbyterian Church & Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
