James Alfred Krantz, 74 of Huddleston, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, April 14, 1937 in Bedford County, a son of the late James Henry Krantz and Velma Queen Mayhew Krantz. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. He was a retired truck driver with L. J. Bays. James is survived by his wife, Brenda Snead Krantz; a son, Chad Lawson Krantz & wife, Charlotte of Huddleston; four daughters, Pam Hippinsteel & husband, Kirk of NM, Penny Arrington & husband, Rex of Bedford; Connie McCall & husband, Ricky of Big Island, Susan Caldwell & husband, W. D. of Boonsboro; two brothers, Calvin Krantz & wife, Joyce of Thaxton, Dennis Krantz & wife, Margie of Huddleston as well as eleven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston at with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 until 6 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
