Mary Arthur "Mama Mary" Pagans, 80 of Moneta passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Tuesday, October 29, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, VA, a daughter of the late Sam Washington Arthur and Rebecca Frances Forlines Arthur. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Gillespie and her brother, J. B. Arthur.
She is survived by her sister, Eve A. Goode; her daughter, Donna P. Vaughan; grandchildren, Samantha Vaughan, Terra Vaughan, Jasen Gillespie; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Aiden; her son-in-law, Gary Gillespie as well as nieces and nephews.
A special thanks you to the staff at Oakwood Manor for the love and care they gave to her, especially the last few years.
A graveside services will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Lord officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4 until 6 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
