Obituary of Doris Alma Mitchell Fallin

On Sunday June 27th, 2021, Doris M. Fallin passed away at the wonderful age of 99. She was born on Wednesday, April 19, 1922 and raised in Huddleston, VA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Calvin Mitchel and Sarah Elma Brooks Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Fallin. Doris moved to Northern Virginia in 1952 where she lived until she came back home to Huddleston in 1979. She was a member of Patmos United Methodist Church, Saunders Fire Department, “the Fireballs”, The Eastern Star of Washington, DC and the United Methodist Women’s Association. She loved to quilt, had a passion for her flowers, her vegetable garden and all of her pets. She is survived by her daughter, Karen F. Carpenter & husband, Randy; stepson, Reginald C. Fallin & his family, and many nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers make donations to your favorite organization in her memory. A Graveside service will be held at Patmos United Methodist Church Cemetery on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Noon with Pastor John Roe/Rev. Mary Mason officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
