Obituary of Brenda Mae Koop
Please share a memory of Brenda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brenda was born in Norwalk, CT, raised her children in Rochester, NY, and then moved to Bedford, VA to be near her brother, Bill, and cousin, Millie. This is where she met her companion of over 10 years, Ed Laughon, and with his children, her Virginia family. She was a member of Ephesus United Methodist Church.
Brenda was a stay at home mom turned avid quilter with her best friend, Betty, owning a quilt shop together. After retiring, she moved along with her mother, Charlotte, to Bedford. They bought a home across the street from Ed, later learning Ed had said, "I'm keeping my eye on you!" Besides quilting, she loved crocheting, flowers and solitaire.
Brenda Mae Sterling Koop is survived by her long time companion Ed Laughon. A loving mother to her children, David (Hollie), Michael, Christine (Scott), and Donna (David); grandmother to Emily (Jay), Eric (Caitlin), Melinda (Dan), Trevor, Ashley, Daniel, Stephanie, Shannon, Dana and Samson; great grandmother to Charlotte and Derek; siblings Bill (Nora) and Marcia (Dick).
