Ogan Woodrow Amos, Sr., 77 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on Friday, November 12, 1943 in Bedford County, a son of the late William H. Amos and Gladys Virginia Dooley Amos. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susan Dianne Dooley Amos, his step-daughter, Amy Rene Overstreet and his son, Ogan Woodrow Amos, Jr.
He was retired from Frank Chervan with forty-seven years service.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela Dawn Manley & husband, Travis, LaDonna Amos Lucas & husband, Alan; his son, Wade Amos & wife, Diane; his brothers, Jerry Amos, Marvin Amos, Calvin Amos, Danny Amos; his sisters, Jane Ruff, Helen Parker as well as fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
A graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Danny Holdren officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2 until 4 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
