Benjamin “Ben” Wayne Jenkins, 20, of Big Island, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Agnes Carraway; paternal grandfather, Benjamin Rucker Jenkins and great uncle, Steve Jenkins, great aunt, Nancy Jenkins Toms.
Ben loved baseball, fishing, hunting & anything outdoors. He loved his dog “Jax” & his cat “Garfield”.
Surviving are his mother, Angie Jenkins; father, Richard Jenkins; maternal grandparents, Rick & Kay Brown; paternal grandmother, Faye Toms Jenkins; sister, Ashley K. Jenkins & her daughters, Jayde Jenkins & Serenity Rigsby; brother, Denny Payne; sister, Alyssa Martin & husband, Richard & their sons, Grayson & Gage; girlfriend, Macy Nester & their daughter, Kay & their unborn son, Rucker; and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, P. O. Box 926, Bedford, VA 24523 to help cover funeral expenses.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford with Rev. Dr. Monty Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-12 noon on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
