Roland Louis Johns, 61, of Montvale, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Carilion Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Friday, September 30, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland, a son of the late Floyd Johns and Helen Branham Johns. He was a retired treatment operator at Washington Suburban Sanatary Comission. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Beverly Johns; four daughters, Eugenie Ladie, Dee King, Teresa Sullivan, and Philena Allen; a son, John Heaney; three sisters, Shirley Johns, Phyllis Prater, and Mildred Edelen; three brothers, MacArthur Johns, Albert Johns, William Johns. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
