Obituary of Ronald Henry Link

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald “Ronnie” Link, 67, of Thaxton, Va., entered heaven on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born on April 17, 1954, in Bedford, Va., son of the late Charles Jasper Link and Frances McManaway Link. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles “Shorty” Jasper Link, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer L. Morgan and husband, Justin of Moneta; his grandchildren, Kelton Daniel Morgan and Sadie Kate Morgan; his sisters Lora Leigh Link Dellis of Huddleston and Gail Link Hernandez of Thaxton, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends. Ronnie was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He retired from Norfolk Southern, having worked in many fields within the Car Department. He was a Christian man and put God first, always, starting each new day with the enjoyment of reading devotionals and his Bible. Ronnie found true happiness in the simple things; working on cars and farm equipment, enjoying fishing trips in the Outer Banks in North Carolina, always lending a helping hand, and basking in the joy of having his grandchildren around him. His faith, warmth, and guidance were the foundation of his family. Ronnie was never one to meet a stranger and loved to take time to stop and talk. He was a kindhearted, selfless man who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, the family plans to hold a memorial dinner at a later date. Those who would like to attend may call or text (540) 875-8228 to receive notification once scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Don Shire Ministries. For donation information please visit www.donshireministries.org. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
