Deborah Anne Powell Stoyk, 54 of Lexington, SC and formerly of Bedford County passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at Agape Hospice in West Columbia, SC. She was born December 11, 1956 in Broome Co., NY, a daughter of the late Foster Powell, Sr. and Almytta Duffy Powell, who survives of Bedford Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stoyk and her brother, Foster Powell Jr. She was a member of the North Columbia Church of Christ and retired registered nurse at Bedford Memorial Hospital. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Michael Stoyk and his wife, Megan of Lexington, SC; two daughters, Victoria Wineland and her husband, Jared of Hampton, VA; Rebecca Stoyk of Lexington, SC; two sisters, Heather Madison and husband, Jeff, Penny Champaign and husband, Richard, all of Bedford Co.; and brother Timothy Powell of Bedford Co. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16 from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford. A memorial service will follow on Tuesday May 17, at 6 PM at Seven Hills Church of Christ in Lynchburg, VA. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
