Robert (Bob) Shillingburg, 74, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Bratton; parents, Vinton & Louise Shillingburg; brother, Bill Shillingburg; sisters, Brenda Shillingburg & Sandra Quillen.
Bob was a Veteran of both the United States Army and Air Force and was a communications specialist during the Vietnam war. He later worked for 34 years as a farmer on Turner’s Dairy of Bedford and retired in 2017.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Frances Shillingburg; children, Wendy Turner & husband, Tommy; Kimberly Smith & husband, Kenny; Tonya Childs & husband, Jeff; daughter-in-law, Traci Bratton; sons, Robbie & Greg Hall; Papaw to eleven grandchildren, Robert & Aaron Turner; Alex and Katie Bratton; Tyler Scott; Samantha Hall; Meagan Hall; Mariah Garcia; Chance Wade; JR Hall and Brandon Hartwell; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Britton & husband, Wayne; Linda Theuerkorn; his brother, Jim Shillingburg & adopted Papaw to many.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Huddleston Community Church with Pastor Rock Chocklett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
