Henry Maynard Noell, 94 of Bedford, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on Tuesday, May 29, 1917 in Bedford County, a son of the late Robert Benjamin Noell and Elizabeth Susan Dunn Noell. He was also preceded in death by wife, Lois Abbott Noell, two infant children as well as a son, Glenn Henry Noell; two brothers, Raymond Archie Noell, Charlie Fuqua and a sister, Erselle Bryant. He was a retired employee of Piedmont Label and a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II. Surviving is his daughter, Charlotte Hubbard of Goode; a son, Ronald Noell of Bedford; four grandchildren, Keith Hubbard, Kevin Hubbard & wife, Krista, Kelly Jean Nance, Matthew Ryan Noell; a sister-in-law, Ann Fuqua of MD, four great grandchildren, Kayla Nance, Layne Nance, Jamie Soles, Eden Hubbard; four nieces and nephews, Richard Noell & wife, Linda, James Noell & wife, Sherri, Robert Bryant & wife, Rachel, Norma Powers & husband, Jimmy. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Timber Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 3234 Timber Ridge Road, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Thursday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
