Obituary of Mildred Janet Canterbury Wright

Mildred Janet Canterbury Wright, 94 of  Madison Heights, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Carriage Hill Retirement Home. She was born on Saturday, January 14, 1928  in Hollywood, Monroe County, WV, a daughter of the late Lama Charles Canterbury  and Sally Jane Fury Canterbury.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Wright, Jr., twin sister, Marion Genevieve, sister, Helen Mae Arrington.  

She worked in many retail settings including Brown's Toy Store, McGhee's Furniture, Phelps & Armistead Furniture, Montgomery Wards, Centra Health billing, Thalhimer's and Macy's Department Stores. 

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Miller (Roger), Brenda Harper; her granddaughter, Katherine Anne; her niece, Grace Ann Brown.  

The family gives much gratitude to the Carriage Hill and Centra Hospice caring and efficient staff.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Deerfield Road, Lewisburg, WV, 24901. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ALS Association, the American Heart Association or the Lynchburg Salvations Army.
