Obituary of Harold Haldren, Jr.
Andy Haldren, 57, of Moneta, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022, at his home following a courageous 5 year battle with cancer.
Born on August 31, 1964, in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the son of Harold & Louise Haldren. He attended Princeton High School, Liberty University and was a graduate of Concord College. He worked for Norfolk Southern for 29 years, as a brakeman, conductor, engineer & road foreman.
Andy was an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg, VA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved to garden and spend time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his parents, are his wife of 33 years, Valorie Farley Haldren; a son, Andrew Haldren & wife, Hannah, of Bethesda, Maryland; a daughter, Rachel Selby & husband, Josh, of Lynchburg, VA; two granddaughters, Olivia and Peyton Selby; a sister, Lori Newlon and her two sons, Liam & Brooks; his in-laws, Rodney Farley, Linda & J.R. Melvin; special family friends, Sarah Isaacson & Lory Winter; as well as a number of other special friends, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at Pates Chapel, Thomas Road Baptist Church, with Pastor Jonathan Falwell at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 . A light luncheon will follow the Chapel service, with interment following luncheon at Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford.
Friends may visit with the family at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm or 1 hour before the service on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
