Cynthia Carol Porter, 22 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011. She was born on Wednesday, September 7, 1988 in Wilmington, NC. She was a Chef at Mitchell's Marina and was a member of The Life Church in Bedford. Surviving is her father, Ronald Lawrence Porter II & his wife Sheila Ann; her mother, Terri Lynn Goff & fiance Douglas Lee Walton; her daughter, Desiree Star Penn; paternal grandmother, Peggy Wheeler, maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Wright & husband Harry D.; maternal grandfather, Jim Goff; sisters, Marsha Porter Roach & Kristal Porter Chappell, step-sister, Rachel Stephens; step-brother, Timothy Michael Stephens; fiance, Thomas Penn; aunt, Melissa Ellison; uncle, Michael Allen Goff and numerous other loving family members. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Cynthia's name to Updike Funeral Home, P. O. Box 926, Bedford, VA 24523. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm at The Life Church on Depot Street in Bedford with Pastor Jeff Spencer officiating. Friends may call any time prior at the home of her father, 1103 Venable Street, Bedford or her mother at 138 Woody's Lane, Madison Heights. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
