Obituary of Mae Ellis Martin

Mae Ellis Martin, 99 of Moneta passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was born on Tuesday, May 8, 1923 in Franklin County, a daughter of the late John Hubert Ellis and Annie Belle Morgan Ellis.  She was also preceded in death by husband, Johnnie Hampton Martin. 

She was the oldest living member of Radford Baptist Church, having been a member for over 70 years.  

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce M. Walker & husband, Keith; her granddaughter, Brittany Bauer & husband, David; her sister, Marie Blackwelder & husband, Jim; her great grandsons, Tate and Brody Bauer; a sister-in-law Theresa Ellis; and a brother-in-law Gerald Cooper.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Radford Baptist Church and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Karl Hofheinz officiating.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
