Obituary of William Glenwood Peery, Sr.

William Glenwood Peery, Sr., 89 of  Evington, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at  Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born on Sunday, February 19, 1933  in Botetourt County, a son of the late Houston Peery and Fannie Lake Duke Peery.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Morton Peery and brothers, Henry, Kenneth, Elbert & Paul Peery & sister, Charlene Coleman.   He was retired from Workman Oil Company and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  

William loved to fish.

He is survived by his sons, William "Billy" G. Peery, Jr. (Sandy), James "Jimmy" E. Peery (Shelly); grandsons, Ryan Peery, Tucker Peery, Carson Peery;  sister, Frances Robertson; sister-in-law, Betty Peery as well as several nieces & nephews.  

Graveside services with Military Honors by American Legion Post 36 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Dwight Weaver officiating.
