Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Marshall Smith, 56 of Madison Heights, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her residence. She was born on Wednesday, February 23, 1955 in Nashville, TN, a daughter of the late Elizabeth Joanne Green Marshall and Robert D. Marshall, Sr., of Madison Heights, who survives. She was a College Registrar & Director of Assesment at the University of Virginia at Lynchburg and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 29 years, Orval Andrew "Bud" Smith, Jr.; three sons, Michael R. Smith of Dexter, ME, Joshua S. Smith and Stuart A. Smith, both of Lynchburg,; a daughter, Kari Lynn Smith-Carlile of Madison Heights; two brothers, Robert D. Marshall, Jr., of Dallas, TX, Steven D. Marshall of Orlando, FL; a sister, Beverly Sue Marshall-Goodell of Tiffin, IA, and three grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to www.debbiesmithals.com.
