Obituary of Judy Wyath Love Holdren
Judy Wyath Love Holdren of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Bedford County on June 14, 1949 to Noah Anderson Love and Lilia Dooley Love. In addition to her father and mother, she was predeceased by her beloved sister, Ida May Love Wilkerson.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, James Douglas Holdren Sr, her children, Pamela H Orange (Terry), James (Jim) Douglas Holdren Jr, Zandra H Dorr (Mark) and Jonathan G Holdren (Amber). Lovingly referred to as Bubby, she is also survived by seven grandchildren Dustin Holdren, Serenna Mitchen, Brandon Dorr, Adam Holdren, Brittany Boyles, Ryan Dorr and Wyatt Holdren; as well as six great grandchildren, Thomas Barlow, Brody Dorr, Leigha Boyles, Harper Dorr, Isiah Boyles and Oakley Elkins.
Judy was co-owner and co-operator of J L Holdren Janitor Service of Bedford for over 50 years. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, but was especially known as a skilled gardener as everything she touched flourished.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patricia Overstreet and the wonderful team from Centra Hospice for all of their wonderful love and care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Organization for Autism Research (OAR) or to the Bedford Public Library.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 4 PM in the chapel with Rev. Samuel Huntley officiating. Interment will be private.
