Obituary of Shelia Kay Ferguson

Shelia Kay Ferguson, 63 of  Moneta, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was born on Friday, December 11, 1959  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Loyd James Ferguson and Audrey Janet Ayers Ferguson, her brothers, Loyd Wayne Ferguson and Ronnie Lee Ferguson.  

She believed in the Lord and was a member of Staunton Baptist Church.  She also believed that we are not the ones to pass judgment but we are to love others and encourage everyone to believe in the Lord. She overcame many obstacles and her never faith never wavered.  She was extremely proud of her daughter and grandson, they were her pride and joy!

She is survived by her daughter, Lanette Arthur; grandson, Tyler Angle; brother, James "Bo" Ferguson; sisters, Jennie Hale (Donald), Rita Morgan, Connie Hamrick (Mick), Vickie Carter; her nieces & nephews, April Johnson (Mark), Dawn Marie Hale, Hunter Carter, Daisy Ferguson, Caleb Clark, Madison Clark, Hailey Clark, Raiden Ferguson, Mark Johnson, Jr. and a host of aunt, uncles and friends. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2023 Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in Western Light Cemetery.
