Diane Burnette Crosier of Salem, Virginia passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born to Warren and Ethel Franklin Burnette of Bedford, Virginia, on September 10, 1942. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Greg Crosier, her brother, Billy Burnette, and her best friend and life partner, George Winners.

She is survived by her son, Paul Allen (Connie) and her grandchildren, Bryan Arthur Allen and Taylor Buckley. She is also survived by her niece, Penny Jeffers (Christy), a nephew, Kevin Burnette (Jodi), many great-nephews, nieces and a multitude of cousins.

Diane graduated from National Business College in 1961 and received her Associate in Applied Science Degree from Virginia Western Community College in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bluefield College is 2002. She had a varied career, including working at Norfolk Southern for many years and working and retiring from Appalachian Power Company. Deciding she wasn’t ready for retirement she went to work with the Roanoke County police department. She could do any job and do it well. Diane was a member of Mason Cove Chapel. She was a proud Army Reservist for 25 years. She was also a member of the Roanoke Valley Harley Owners Group.

Special thanks to her friend, Tim Leftwich, who drove Diane to the HOG meetings, since she didn’t like to drive at night. Also, thanks to her neighbors, Linda and Jerry Rhodes, who were a great help to Diane, especially Linda taking care of Diane’s beloved dog, Harley.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Quaker Baptist Church in Bedford, VA with Pastor Sonny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Please feel free to dress casually (as in jeans).
