Obituary of Danny Lee Carter

Danny Lee Carter, 78 of  Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born on Monday, September 18, 1944, a son of the late Gilmore Carter and Agnes Ruff Carter.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Walter Carter and his father-in-law, Berkley White.

He was retired from English Construction as a heavy equipment operator. 

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie White Carter; his son, Dennis Carter; his sister, Katherine Taylor; his mother-in-law, Leila White; his beloved dog, Maddie as well as numerous nieces, nephews & other family members.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 3 PM in the chapel with Pastor Shane McSweeney officiating.  Interment will be in Peaks Presbyterian Church & Community Cemetery.  

Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
