Obituary of Edgar Clarence Witt

Edgar Clarence Witt, 77 of Bedford passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his home.  He was born on July 11, 1945 in Bedford County, a son of the late Edgar Clarence Myers and Virginia Witt Overstreet.  He served with the Army National Guard and was employed by Rubatex Corporation of Bedford for 31 years and then Blue Ridge Regional Jail of Bedford for 10 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Marlene D. Witt & fiancé, Greg Holdren, as well as his grandchildren, Brandie E. Witt, Macey D. Arthur (John) and Johnathan H. Arthur & wife, Kayla; his great grandchildren, Hazel Jade Divers and Hayden Hill Arthur; his siblings, Evelyn V. Carter, Arnold B. Woodford, Leanna S. Clark and Roberta O. Little (Kenny) and his beloved companion, Dillin.  He also loved western movies and was a big Elvis Enthusiast.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford prior to the service.
