Obituary of Mary Margree Brown

Mary Margree Brown, 91, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023.  She was born on Thursday, December 24, 1931, a daughter of the late Mack Henry Donald & Annie Bramlett Donald.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O. Brown, Sr.; sons, Raymond O. Brown, Jr.; Arch Madison Brown & Donald Ray Brown; sisters, Eunice Lyle & Mabel Creasy; brothers, Elton Donald, Ray Donald, Lewis Donald & John Allen Donald. 

Mary was an advocate of Christianity & loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Lee Brown & wife, Jennifer; daughters, Mary Frances Brown, Brenda Gail Marshall & Carol Ann Dean & husband, David; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews & other family members.  A special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice & her nurse, Lorri Hanson.  Also special thanks to Anna & Kemper. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.  Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Butch Hammed officiating.  Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 1001 Stewart Ave SE, Roanoke, VA 24013 or Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
