Warren Edward Woodford, 81 of Moneta, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on Monday, November 25, 1929 in Bedford County, a son of the late Samuel W. and Lula Hubbard Woodford . He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Wilkinson Woodford, Brothers, L. Grant Woodford and Curtis Ray Woodford, D.D.S. and a sister-in-law, Beverly Woodford. He was the parts manager at Powers Tractor & Equipment for many years,a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and a charter member of the Moneta Fire Department. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Betty Bussey Woodford, daughters, Teresa W. Hatcher & her husband John of Bedford, Marcia W. Hughes & her husband David of Virginia Beach, Julie W. Manico & her husband Matt of Roanoke, Grandchildren, Stacey Kimber & her husband Brandon, Jeremy Hatcher & Lacy McClure, Brad Hughes, Kate Manico, and Samantha Manico, a Brother, Calvin P. Woodford & his wife Macklyn of Moneta, a Sister-in-Law, Virginia Woodford of Charlottesville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider The Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 11525, Roanoke, VA 24022-1525. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Lord officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
