Obituary of Charles Roland Cassidy

Charles Roland Cassidy, 88 of  Moneta, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at Bedford County Nursing Home.  He was born on Saturday, August 4, 1934 in Bedford County, a son of the late Oscar Cassidy and Bessie Myrtle Tuck Cassidy.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine B. Mitchell Cassidy and his step-son, Claude W. Mitchell.

He was retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a farmer and a member of Radford Baptist Church.  

He is survived by his brother, Flavis Cassidy (Violet); his sisters, Peggy Cassidy, Margaret Cassidy, Sarah Cassidy, Mary Ayers; step-daughters, Lynda M. Childress, Dottie M. Johnson. 

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Radford Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Harris officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
