Evelyn Virginia Tolley, 71 of Bedford, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 29, 1951 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Calvin Willard Tolley and Lottie Lucille Jenkins Tolley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Gene Sexton and her life partner, Vernon Lester Lacy.

She was retired from the Bedford County Nursing Home in food service and was a lifetime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a special cousin, Sylvia Croom as well as numerous other family members, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Updike Funeral Home in Bedford. A funeral service will follow at 3 PM in the chapel with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.

The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery Memorial Fund.
