Obituary of Amanda Leigh Key
Amanda Leigh Key, 45, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 3, 2023, after a prolonged illness. Amanda graduated from Liberty High School in Bedford, Va. and attended Aesthetic School in Roanoke, Va. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Helena Hawkins and grandparents, E. Christine Key and WA Key, Jr.
She is survived by parents, Ted A. Key and Robbie H. Key; fiancé, Chris Andrews; brothers, Jared Key and Cory Key; sister-in-law, Cathy Key; nephew, John A. Key; niece, Helena Key; grandfather, Clarence E. Hawkins; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Amanda was a dedicated volunteer and supporter of LifeNet Health Organization since 1999. Every year for 10 years she planned and organized the Christmas Donor Trees at Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Va She was active in animal rescue, fostering and finding animals “forever homes”.
Amanda had a giving spirit and enthusiasm that touched everyone who knew her. She was “A Shining Star”.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support, prayers and blessings, the medical staff at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital who helped Amanda and her family through her hospitalization and our loss. Special thanks to Anne Hogan and Kelly Hackworth, especially Chris Andrews who stood by her during this time.
