Obituary of Eunice Allene Powers Witt

Eunice Allene Powers Witt, 91 of Bedford passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at her residence.  She was born October 19, 1931 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Andrew Edward Powers and Annie Smith Powers.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Witt; two daughters, Debra Pugh & Jane Carol Witt; two brothers, Reginald & Oswald Powers as well as three grandchildren, Walker Daniel Rice, III, Daniel Chambers & Vasmine Lawson.

She was a mother first and also co-owner of Witt's Construction Company.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kayrine Knight (Alton), Dona Rice (Danny), Janet Cutshaw (Davis); seven sons, Mike Witt, Tommy Witt (Susie), Dickie Witt (Debbie), John Witt (Barbara), Chuckie Witt (Lynn), Jeff Witt, Pete Witt (Mary); her sister, Betty Watson as well as twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 with Rev Austin Hull officiating.  The family will receive friend from 5 until 7 PM on Monday evening at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
