COCKE, CLAUDINE LEE age 78, of Burton, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the McLaren Regional Medical Center. Claudine was born October 3, 1932 in Roanoke, VA to parents James and Ruth (Hall) Stump. She married Raymond L. Cocke, June 4, 1949. She Graduated from Swartz Creek High School later in life, also received a Genesee Baptist Assn. Seminary Extension Diploma. Claudine worked as a CNA at Clara Barton Nursing Home for many years. She loved cake decorating and flower Arranging. She was the First Lady of Shawn Baptist Church. Claudine was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star - Pilgrim Chapter. Surviving are husband Pastor Raymond L. Cocke; children Daniel (Carolyn) Cocke, Ruth (Dennis) Liquia, James Cocke; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; Preceded in death by son Douglas January 6, 1999; parents; brother Wesley Stump; sister Georgia Ann. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Shawn Baptist Church or a charity of your choice. Family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nursing staff at McLaren Hospital ICU and CCU, Dr. Goldberg and Dr. Raj. A funeral service will be conducted from the graveside at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 12:30 PM. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 until 12 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
