Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Wilson Bryant
Our beloved Betsy Jane, God's faithful servant, went to heaven on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2023. Betsy Jane accepted Jesus as her Savior and spent her life extending God's love to everyone she met. She was the epitomy of love, kindness, generosity and strength. She was a dedicated member of New Beginnings Baptist Church and was always available to pray with you in person or on the telephone.
Elizabeth Jane Wilson Bryant, of Altavista, daughter of the late Guy Bennett Wilson, Sr. and Vernelle Ruth Reynolds Wilson was born on May 17, 1953. She was born and raised in Altavista and she attended Altavista Schools and retired from Abbott Laboratories. Betsy loved to embroider and delighted in sharing her many works with others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee Bryant, her daughter, Stephanie Kaye Dews, brother, Bennie Wilson and sister, Linda Carroll May.
She is survived by her beloved son, Michael David Bennett, Sr. (Danielle); her grandsons, Michael, Jr., Gabriel, Cameron and Gavin; her sisters, Sandra Farmer (Steve), Paula Watkins (Johnny); brother-in-law, Donald May; special aunt, Kitty Pillow as well as special friends, Linda Bryant & Pam Painter.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM on Monday, August 14, 2023 at New Beginnings Baptist Church and a service to celebrate Betsy's life will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Bobby Brumfield officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
