Obituary of Clara Jane Floyd Brooks

Clara Jane Floyd Brooks, 75, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.  She was born on Friday, April 2, 1948, the daughter of the late Raymond & Janie Wood Floyd.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Brooks; grandson, Weston Smith; sister, Mary Campbell; brothers, Russell Floyd & Steve Floyd.

Clara enjoyed going to flea markets, watching western shows and listening to gospel music.  She also liked working puzzles and doing word puzzles.  Clara enjoyed taking pictures and collecting pictures of acquaintances.

She is survived by her sons, Gerald Smith (Tracy) & Greg Smith (Mary Agee); grandchildren, Jerry Smith (Barbara), Ryan Smith (Corrie), Christian Smith (Madison), Holly Smith (Chris), Emma Coyuchi, Joseph Coyuchi, Elizabeth Coyuchi, Johnathan Coyuchi, Baby Girl Coyuchi; great-grandchilren, Kay Stump, Gage Stump, Hunter Smith, Clyde Smith, Sophia Smith, Everleigh Smith, Kaydence Smith, Grant Smith, Waylon Smith & Beau Smith; brother, Lewis Floyd, Sisters, Beulah Myers, Doris Cheatham (Raymond), Joann McCormick (Winston) & Susie Reynolds; many nieces & nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
