Obituary of Melvin Junior Grishaw

Melvin Junior Grishaw, 80 of  Bedford, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at  his residence.  He was born on Saturday, June 26, 1943 in Spout Springs, VA, a son of the late Burl Hath Grishaw and Della Mae Mayberry Grishaw .  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Mae Guthrie and brothers, Aubrey Hath Grishaw and Clarence Edward Grishaw.

He was a retired pipe fitter and enjoyed NASCAR and motorcycles.  

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Mitchell Grishaw; his daughters, Angela Grishaw Keyes, Vanessa Grishaw Goin (Danny); sons, Duane Kemp Laughlin (Cynthia),Timmy Dale Laughlin as well as seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Ray Lyons and Pastor Ross Gilfillen officiating.  Interment will follow in Palestine Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday evening at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and other times at the residence of Timmy Laughlin, 1272 Emerald Crest Drive, Bedford.
