Doris Faust McGuinn, 99, of Thaxton; formerly of Partlow, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Tuesday, January 8, 1924 to the late John Howard Faust & Viola Olivia Burdette Faust. Doris was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hal McGuinn; daughter, Barbara Jo Morison; son, Richard L. McGuinn; daughter-in-law, Donna McGuinn; granddaughter, Sherry Thaggard; grandsons, Duwayne McGuinn & Michael McGuinn; brothers, Fred Faust & James Faust & son-in-law, Clayton Gatewood.

Doris loved the Lord. She loved to sing & write poetry. Doris loved everybody that she met, and they loved her.

She is survived by her children, Dottie Frazier (Frank), Carolie Quinn, John H. McGuinn, Fred B. McGuinn (Sharon), Chuck McGuinn (Carol) & Otis Austin (Mary); twenty-one grandchildren; many great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren as well as one great-great-great granddaughter due in December; many other family members & friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Mike Grooms officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford. Interment will be on Monday, October, 23, 2023 at Cranford United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lorton, Va.
