Obituary of Betty Loftice Taylor

On October 26, 2023, Betty Loftice Taylor of Bedford, Va. passed away peacefully at Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Betty was born in Plano, Texas to Robert Mallow Loftice and Jessie Evelyn Bell Loftice. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Atkins; her grandson, Lucas Atkins and her sister, Jessie Elaine Steere.

Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, George W. Taylor; children, Linda Smelser (Raymond) of Bonsack, Va., Thomas Taylor (Chrissy) of Virginia Beach, Va; her brother, R.M. Loftice (Diane) of Honey Grove, TX; her sister, Connie Loftice Bowman of Grove, OK and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
