George Alfred Dooley, Sr. 87, formerly of Bedford, passed away on Monday October 30, 2023, at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Altavista, Virginia. He was born Wednesday July 15, 1936 in Bedford County, Virginia, a son of the late James Chesterfield Dooley & Hester Carter Dooley. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings.

He retired from Bedford Weaving.

He is survived by a son, George Albert Dooley, Jr.(Cathy); granddaughter Kara Dooley; great grandchildren, Kayden Orange, Kyla Lacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huddleston Fire Department, P.O. Box 436, Huddleston, VA, 24104.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Parker Family Cemetery, Thaxton with Pastor Sam Stump officiating.
