Obituary of Floyd Nelson Crouch

Floyd  Nelson Crouch, 88, of  Bedford, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at  Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born on Sunday, May 5, 1935  in Bedford County, a son of the late Warren S. Crouch and Margaret Holdren Crouch.  He was also preceded in death by his  first wife, Nina Bell Crouch; second wife, Marie Fariss Crouch; siblings, Murline Crouch, Velma Davis, Avis Crouch Frye, Haywood Lewis Crouch & Emily Crouch Bennett & daughter-in-law, Angie Trent Crouch.

Nelson served the United States Navy on the USS Wisconsin BB-64.  He was retired from the City of Bedford in the electrical department as a Class A lineman with 35 years service and loved to farm with his brother, Haywood.  He was a lifetime member of  Mentow Baptist Church.  Nelson never met a stranger, he enjoyed talking to everybody.

He is survived by his son, Rodney Lee Crouch and his grandchildren, Cayla Crouch & Shannon Jackson (Lewis) & their son, Jax.   

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huddleston Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 436, Huddleston, VA, 24104.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Mentow Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Foster & Rev. Rick Dellinger officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
