Obituary of Margaret Walker Dinwiddie
Margaret Walker Dinwiddie, 84 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at her residence. She was born April 16, 1939 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late John W. Walker and Evelyn Ayers Walker. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lisa Brooks, a sister, Fay Walker Ransom and a brother, Henry Walker.
She was a retired hairdresser/cosmetologist, was a member of the Women of the Moose #1005, a former member of the Jaycettes and a member of Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church.
Margaret is survived by her husband, H. Davis Dinwiddie; her sons, Randy D. Dinwiddie (wife, Sharon), Darryl E. Dinwiddie (friend, Laurie); four grandchildren, Tyler Dinwiddie, Dustin Dinwiddie, Brad Dinwiddie, DeAnna D. Owens; her great grandchildren, Savanna, Kylee, Tucker, Laney, Atlee, Reece, Kaiden, LeighAnna, Calen, Jace, Londyn Grace Dinwiddie and Ada Rae Owens, Makayla, Mayson, Myles; two sisters, Shirley W. Nance (William), Betty W. Lodge (Randy).
The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4110, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel with Rev. Wayne Murphy and Rev. J. R. Graybill officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
