Earlie Ray Worrell, 77 of Montvale, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Thursday, May 17, 1934 in Roanoke County, the son of the late Lawrence Worrell and Marie Edwards Worrell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lenna Bramlett Worrell. He was a retired employee of Blue Ridge Transfer. Surviving are his sons, Gary Worrell & wife, Hope, Michael Worrell & wife, Amy, all of Montvale; Rickie Worrell of Thaxton; a daughter, Melissa Worrell of Montvale; grandchildren, Matthew White, Amber Worrell, Kayleigh Wright, Taylor Worrell and a great-grandchild, Jaiden White. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 pm Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
