Obituary of April Annette Done Wishon

Please share a memory of April Annette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

April Annette Done Wishon of Fort Worth, Texas was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and a bright light to everyone she met.

On May 8, 2024 April, age 38, peacefully fell asleep and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She fought a long and most courageous battle with cancer, but never let the disease define her.

April was born on July 11, 1985 in Miami, Florida to her parents Ralph and Rebecca “Becky” Done. At age four her family moved to Hong Kong to serve as missionaries, a move that deeply influenced her life and offered unique adventures that April shared with her two sisters, Sadie and Halee. She graduated Hong Kong International School and returned to the States to attend college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where she made lifelong friends whom she cherished.

Virginia is also where she met her future husband, Brandon Wishon during a management training program at Wal-Mart. The pair soon became inseparable, and on August 7, 2015 April and her beloved Brandon were married in Dallas. Their marriage was marked by devoted love, travel, and a purposeful life together in Fort Worth.

April was tenaciously driven in her career, earning many accolades for her results-driven work ethic. Her colleagues at Texas Capital Bank served as an invaluable support team during her illness.

April was a devoted aunt who delighted in the lives of her many nieces and nephews and even shared a birthday with her oldest niece Charlee. Whether they knew her as “Aunt Bull” or “Aunt Boo Boo,” April was beloved by them all.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and mother Becky Done, whom she is now reunited with in heaven.

April is survived by her husband Brandon; sisters, Sadie and her husband Brooks Anderson, Halee and her husband Clinton Mabry, sister-in-law Jennifer and her husband Todd Gilbert; nieces and nephews, Charlee, Canon, Branch, Haddon and Jovie Anderson; Isla, Ember, and Owen Mabry; Grant and Jackson Gilbert; father, Ralph Done; father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Bonnie Wishon; and her dog Waylon. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

To her last day on earth April lived joyfully and inspired everyone around her with her grateful heart and unyielding faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
