Obituary of Lori Ann Nester

Please share a memory of Lori to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lori Ann Nester was born August 12, 1960.  On May 21, 2024, she took her rightful place in Heaven’s Choir to share her most rich alto voice in the Holy presence of Jesus.

Lori was predeceased by Her Father and Mother, Carlton Byron Nester and Edith “Irene” Wood Nester.  She is survived by her Brother, Carlton “Wayne” Nester and Wife Marietta, and precious Aunt Gaynell Nester Mitchell.  She also had host of cousins which she cherished.

Lori was a fiercely independent woman, not letting anyone redirect her intentions once she had made up her mind.  She was not afraid to speak her opinion which is a trait that her Friend’s admired.

Lori was devoted to, and loved her pets.  She was a good and faithful friend to many.

Lori was active in her Colonial Baptist Church Family sharing many good and reflective times with her Ladies Bible study group.  She adored those Ladies and most assuredly they adored her.  She also greatly enjoyed her Sunday School Class.

Lori’s wish was that a graveside service be held first where she will be interred beside her Mother and Father at Glade Creek Baptist Cemetery, Blue Ridge, Virginia with Pastor Marvin Wegner officiating.  Graveside Service to be on May 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm and a Memorial Service at Glade Creek Baptist Church, 3148 Webster Road, Blue Ridge, Virginia directly after the graveside service.

It was Lori’s desire that in her memory, donations could be made to the Bedford County Animal Shelter, 1307 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, Virginia.

Updike Funeral Home in Bedford, Virginia will be serving Lori.
