My Dearest Edith,
It was more than a pleasure to check in on you more than once a week but also to come and tidy up your oh so clean room. I fell in love with your presence the very first time I met you. I looked at you as if you were my own gran ma. It was an honor to get to change your quilt to the more spring color of “peach” and other spring colors while personally washing your other blue one on the top of C hall to make it look “new again” for you and clean your refrigerator out for you as you requested, although it was not dirty and everything was just in place as you told me it should be. I talked about you to everyone and how I loved you and how I enjoyed helping you in every single way that you asked; whether it be that I put more cold water in your ice cup, fix the pillow that you propped your legs up with, or made sure that everything you needed was in your reach when your lunch came (etc). I’m so blessed to have know you and your beautiful presence. You were so smart and knowledgeable and I enjoyed talking to you for minutes on end. My heart hurts so bad that you’re gone, feels as if a piece is missing quiet frankly. I loved that you knew where every single thing was in your room down to the left or right top or bottom, I also made sure you were very very stocked up on toilet paper under your bathroom sink as you requested my last day there because I just wanted to make sure that you’d have it. Your smile&laugh made me and my heart smile&laugh and I’ll never forget it or you, my sweet lady… rest in peace and the heavenly kingdom, I’ll always hold a place for you in my heart.

I grew up in the neighborhood of Von Roy Road. Every time I went home down this road I would think of everyone that lives/lived in each of the houses and wondered about them. I had lost track of Shellie and Edith Arthur and Steve. I am sad to read this now. Steve, please know you and all the family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all and comfort you every moment.
