Obituary of Catherine Crouch Howell

Catherine Josephine Crouch Howell, 90 of Lynch Station, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Alleghany County.  She was born on Wednesday, March 21, 1934, a daughter of the late James Crouch and Osie Wood Crouch.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Welford Dewey Howell, a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy & Andrew Payne and a brother, Odell Crouch.  Catherine was a long-time Insurance Agent with Scott & Bond Inc. of Bedford, until her recent illness, and was a member of Huddleston Parkway Church. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sonya M. Howell; nieces Yvonne Widmer, Lorraine Woodward & Jeanette Edwards and numerous other nieces, nephews & friends.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Huddleston Parkway Church with Rev. Melvin Harris & Rev. David Bayse officiating.  Interment will follow in Leftwich Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, June 17, 2024, prior to the service from 9:30 am - 11:00 am at the church.
