Obituary of Melissa Lynn Hartman

Melissa Lynn Hartman, 47, of Moneta, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Adalynn Faith Eggleston.

Melissa loved shopping and the beach.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, they were her world.  She loved being called “Mimi”.

She is survived by her daughter, Brittany Faye Watkins (Gee); son, Travis Dylan Watkins (Taylor); grandchildren, Kyleke Eggleston, Ariah Eggleston, Ahveya Eggleston, Hayden Watkins & baby Colton Watkins who is due in October; parents, Ricky & Pat Bobbitt; grandmothers, Anna Simmons & Marie Bobbitt; brother, Ryan Bobbitt (Liz); nieces & nephews, Ashby Bobbitt, Brynna Bobbitt & Hadley Bobbitt; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins & special friends that became like family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106, Roanoke, VA, 24018.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Western Light Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
