Obituary of Kermitt Deland Croft
Kermitt Deland Croft, 92 of Bedford passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1932 in Bedford County, a son of the late Jacob Edward Croft and Ida Judson James Croft. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Brooks Key & great grandson, Cole Bradley as well as five brothers, Jack, Mahlon, Ralph, Jeryl & Curtis Croft and two sisters, Maxine Sanderson & Linda Hubbard.
He retired as Vice-President of Rubatex Corporation after forty years of service, was a member of Bedford Moose Lodge #1897, the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club, Elks Lodge, Ponderosa Sportsmans Club, the Gobbler Club, Outlaw Gang and the Turtle Nut Club. Kermitt also served in the U. S. Army in the Korean Conflict, where he received the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Key (Stan Graber), Pam Croft, Rhonda Tomlin; his son, Tom Croft; grandchildren, Dana Key, Katie Coleman (Marty Hamrick), Eric, Justin (Kayla) and Shannon Tomlin & their children; great grandchildren, Danielle Seward (Justin), Luke Bradley, Riley & Liam Hamrick; great great grandchildren, Scarlett & Roux Seward as well as his brother, Fred Croft.
A service to celebrate the life of Kermitt will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Bedford Moose Lodge #1897 and the family will receive friends immediately following the service. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Suck Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
